NSU protest demanding justice for Pushpa KC

POKHARA: Nepal Students' Union (NSU) has staged a demonstration in front of Kaski District Administration Office demanding a probe into the murder of Pushpa KC in Pokhara.

A 13-year-old girl, Pushpa KC, was found dead at Lamachaur in Pokhara-19 five days ago while returning from school. NSU today staged a protest to pressurise the DPO so they could expedite their investigation into the case.

NSU Kaski Chairman Bikash Thapa appealed to the police to find the culprits of Pushpa KC and Nirmala Panta and book them under the existing laws so that people can feel secure in the society.

The locals of Lamachaur had staged a sit-in-protest in front of the DPO yesterday demanding justice for a teenager. They also accused the hospital of furnishing a fake autopsy report.

Meanwhile, the victim's family has declined to receive the body until truth behind the incident is unveiled by the police. The body has been kept at the Pokhara-based Western Regional Hospital.

Earlier, on Friday, body of the 13-year-old girl was found near the cliff at Sailaja Park in Phapartaro of Pokhara-19. She was a sixth grader at Vindhyavasini Secondary School in Batulechaur of Pokhara Metropolis-16.

People from all walks of lives have raised their voices against the surge in number of rape and murder cases across the nation.
