81yo woman receives fatal shocks while turning on electric switch

HETAUNDA: An 81-year-old woman died after receiving electric shocks in her house in Hetaunda of Makawanpur district on Friday afternoon.

Nara Kumari Shrsetha, a local resident of Thulo Angare, Hatiya of Hetaunda, was electrocuted when she went to turn on a switch at around 1 pm, the Makawanpur District Police said.

High-voltage current had leaked to the domestic power supply after a transformer blew up in the locality, causing the casualty.

The victim's husband, Bhairav Lal Shrestha (85), also received electric shocks but he survived with simple injuries only, according to police.

Likewise, a fire broke out at Lila Bahadur Manandhar's a cow shed in the neighbourhood, destroying properties worth Rs 3,55,000, police said.
