Oli might sign fuel import deal with China: Pun

Minister for Supplies Ganeshman Pun today said Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli might sign a treaty on import of petroleum products with China during his upcoming China visit.

Speaking at a press meet organised by Federation of Revolutionary Journalists Jhapa Chapter in Birtamode, Pun reminded that the country had already signed a preliminary agreement with China on the import of fuel.

“Nepal has already signed an MoU with China on petroleum products. Oli might sign a treaty during his visit,” Pun added.

Pun said preparations were on to import up to 40 per cent fuel of the total fuel required by the country from the northern neighbour. “The government is planning to expand trade through immediate and long term plans with China,” Pun said.

Minister Pun made it clear that petroleum products would be imported via Tatopani, Kerung and Rasuwagadhi border points.

He pledged to control the fuel black marketing as soon as possible and informed that plans to establish additional storage centres was underway.
