On Law Day: 'Justice should be equal to all'
HETAUDA: Province 3 Chief Minister Dormani Poudel on Thursday has said that justice should be equal to all.
Addressing a programme organised by Province 3 Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law on the occasion of Law Day 2076 BS, in Hetauda today, CM Poudel said that a court should be fair in delivering justice.
During the programme, he urged the judiciary to give verdicts without prejudice.
CM Poudel further said that justice should be accessible to all. He also claimed that, in some cases, officers of the court have been involved in incidents obstructing the law, which has adversely affected the court's dignity.
Chief Minister also said that the judiciary should cooperate with the government to benefit the country. He said that Province 3 had already formulated the necessary laws, empowering it to move ahead with its responsibilities.
Similarly, Province 3 Minister for Internal Affairs and Law, Shalikram Jamarkattel, stated that those seeking justice have been more often turned away disappointed. In this connection, the Minister urged for a change in judicial human resources with the change in laws.
Deputy Mayor of Hetauda Sub-Metropolis, Mina Kumari Lama, Hetauda bench of Patan High Court, Justice Pushparaj Koirala, Chair of Province 3 Federation of Nepali Journalists, Pratap Bista, Chief Secretary of Province 3, Anandaraj Dhakal, Chief Attorney Surya Chandra Neupane, among others, attended the programme.
