KATHMANDU: Sri Lanka has shown interest in revising the Air Service Agreement with Nepal and begin operations in the country, a Tourism Ministry source said. The ministry is considering their proposal, but it is yet to take a decision, the source said. 16 hurt in mishap
SARLAHI: Sixteen persons, including five children, were injured when a bus bound for Kanhauli of India from Janakpur, carrying wedding guests, met with an accident at Musaili VDC near Malangawa on Thursday. Sixty persons were travelling in the bus. Three of the injured are said to be in critical condition. — HNS
Factory reopens
Gaighat: The Udayapur Cement Factory reopened on Thursday after an agreement was reached between the employees’ union and the factory management. The workers’ union opened the padlock in the factory after the management agreed to make permanent within 15 days the temporary and daily wage workers in the factory. The pro-Maoist workers’ union had given an ultimatum demanding that the temporary and daily wage workers and employees of the factory be made permanent. — HNS
One killed, 14 hurt
BARA/GAIGHAT: A security guard of the Ganga Industries, Jagadish Prasad Sharma, who was injured when a microbus hit him at Parwanipur on the Birgunj-Pathlaiya road section on Thursday, died while undergoing treatment at the Birgunj-based Narayani Sub-Regional Hospital, police said. Meanwhile, 14 persons were injured when a passenger bus bound for Gaighat from Udaypur skidded off the Jaljale-Sakauro road at Sitabhanjyang on Thursday, police said. —HNS
Goods not returned
BAGLUNG: The former vice-chairman of Myagdi District Development Committee, who was nominated by the royal regime, has not returned office furniture, a television set, a mobile set and kitchen appliances belonging to the DDC office even after quitting the post, the DDC said. An all-party meeting held on May 22 had requested Amrit Kumar Shrestha to return the goods. — HNS
