‘Smuggler' shot dead

BIRGUNJ: One alleged timber smuggler was shot dead by a patrol of Nepali Army personnel here in Parsa Wildlife Reserve on Friday. The unidentified person was killed after he and four of his accomplices attacked the patrolling team with an axe, the Public Relations Directorate of the NA said. — HNS

One dies in mishap

NAWALPARASI: A pedestrian was killed when a speeding hit him at Bhaisakhori of the East West Highway in the district Saturday. Following the fatal accident, the irate locals disrupted the vehicular movement at Bhaishakhori in the afternoon protesting the same. Identity of the deceased is yet to be established. — HNS
