Woman missing

LEKHNATH: Sita Pandey, 36, of Naharside Dhod of Lekhnath municipality is missing from her house since April 28, said her husband Santa Bahadur Pandey. “We have reported her disappearance to the District Police Office,” he said. A search is underway, police said. — HNS

Truck helper shot

LAHAN: Armed looters on Sunday night shot dead a helper of a truck near Mirchaiya along the Mahendra Highway. According to the District Police Office, Siraha, the gang stopped the truck headed for Kathmandu from Katari and shot dead Chakra Bahadur Moktan, 24, of Makwanpur, Raigaun-9. The gang also looted cash from the driver and others travelling in the vehicle. Transport workers staged a chakkajam on the highway for two hours on Monday morning as a mark of protest against the incident. — HNS

Boy killed in mishap

LAHAN: A 13-year-old boy was killed after he was hit by a tractor on Monday. Anish Shrestha, son of Birbal Shrestha of Malhaniyakhori village development committee -2, was hit by the vehicle near the village, District Police Office, Siraha, said. — HNS
