Cops attack Japanese
POKHARA: Policemen on Sunday evening beat up a Japanese tourist at Lakeside of Pokhara. Toksang, 46, putting up at nearby Jio Hotel was going to a restaurant for dinner when the cops attacked him. Hotel owner Govinda Pahari and his daughter Pratigya were also beaten up when they tried to stop the cops from beating up the tourist. The Japanese, however, said the incident was an accident and wished for quick restoration of peace in Nepal. — HNS
Body handed over
Kathmandu: Security forces on Sunday night handed over the body of Bhimsen Dahal to his family in Dhulikhel. Bhimsen was shot dead by security personnel on April 7 for reportedly defying curfew orders in Pokhara. —HNS
FNJ cries foul
Kathmandu: The Federation of Nepalese Journalists (FNJ) on Monday flayed the government and accused it of being biased while providing curfew passes to media houses. Defying prohibitory orders, the FNJ on Monday held a rally from Sanchargram to Sinamangal. —HNS
