SARLAHI: A group set ablaze a passenger bus at the Sagarnath chowk on the Bhaktipur road section of the Mahendra Highway in Sarlahi district on Tuesday, Manohar Rimal, SP at the District Police Office, Sarlahi, said, adding that the bus was parked there due to some technical problem. The bus had left for Dharan from Kathmandu on Monday. — HNS
UK MPs in Biratnagar
KATHMANDU: The visiting British cross-parliamentary group left for Biratnagar on Tuesday to observe refugee camps and programmes launched by the Department for International Development. The group, which is led by Sir John Stanley, will return to Kathmandu on Wednesday. The group also met the visiting International Advocacy Mission for Press Freedom in Nepal on Tuesday, sources said. DHADING: Two persons were killed in an accident at Dharke Bazaar situated at Thankre VDC of Dhading district along Prithvi Highway on Monday, police said. Those killed in the accident were Shree Hari Poudel and Pratap Basnet. — HNS
DAO imposes curfew
PHIDIM: The District Administration Office, Panchthar, has imposed nighttime curfew from 8 p.m. in the evening till 4 a.m. next day daily from Tuesday until the SLC examination is over.
