Looters face action

DHADING: Four persons, who were held in Kirtipur on January 22 for looting over 100 houses in Dhading and Makwanpur by identifying themselves as Maoists, were handed over to the Dhading District Police Office for action, police said. The had fled after looting the house of Kaji Maan Adhikari in Baireni VDC-9 of Dhading on January 19. The four were identified as Badri Pariyar and Bidur Mijar of Dhading and Prakash Khatri and Manoj Pariyar of Makwanpur. — HNS

Biratnagar: The Bhutanese refugees of Beldangi and Khudunabari camps continued their sit-in on the 36th day on Saturday, Kishor Rai, secretary of Bhutan Human Rights Organisation, said. Danya Hira Awards

KATHMANDU: The Chancellor of Nepalbhasha Academy, Satya Mohan Joshi, gave away the Danya Hira Awards to three persons related with the field of music on Saturday. The awards went to singer Lochan Bhattarai, composer Ratna Behoshi and lyricist Bhushan Prasad Shrestha. Each recipient bagged Rs 20,000 in cash and a memorabilia for their contribution to Nepalbhasha music. A musical programme followed the prize distribution ceremony.— HNS
