Nepal meets leaders

KATHMANDU: General secretary of CPN-UML, Madhav Kumar Nepal, who is on a political tour to India, held discussions with Indian intellectuals and Left leaders in New Delhi on Sunday. UML youth leader Rajan Bhattarai told this daily that a UML delegation held discussions on the political crisis in Nepal with CPI leaders and other intellectuals.—HNS

Six parties registered

KATHMANDU: The number of political parties registered at the Election Commission for taking part in the municipal elections to be held on February 8 reached six by Sunday. Two new parties, which were registered at the Commission are Nepal Party and Shanti Kshetra Nepal, EC spokesperson said. — RSS

Dolphin found dead

BHARATPUR: A dolphin has been found dead at the banks of Narayani River at Tribeni of Nawalparasi. According to the Royal Chitwan National Park, Kasara, the dolphin which was found on Thursday near the river had been released into the river with the joint efforts of the park staff, and security forces on Friday. — RSS
