KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court on Friday issued an order to the government to release Kamal KC, an alleged Maoist. The SC issued the release order saying the bench found that KC was detained illegally. He was arrested two years ago. — HNS

Cop commits suicide

BARA: A police constable posted at Security Base Camp, Kalaiya, has committed suicide. Constable Prakash Kharel shot himself by his own rifle on Thursday evening, police source informed. Post mortem of the body has been done at Narayani Sub Regional Hospital, Birgunj.
