Jeep set ablaze

RUPANDEHI: An unidentified group on Saturday torched a vehicle belonging to the DDC, Rupandehi. According to the police, jeep with registration number Ba 1 Jha 4197 was torched and completely damaged at the Paschim village along the Butwal-Bhairahawa road section. The driver and a passenger were forced to disembark before four youth set the jeep on fire. — HNS

Dacoits kill woman

LAHAN: A gang of dacoits killed a woman in Badaharamal VDC-2, Siraha, on Friday night when she was asking her neighbours to retaliate them, the District Police Office said. The deceased has been identified as 46-year-old Sita Devi Baniya. The dacoits entered her house, overpowered her 18-year-old son, and decamped with 1.5 tolas of gold and Rs 40,000. They also looted other houses. — HNS
