Foreign Minister’s call

NUWAKOT: Foreign Minister Ramesh Nath Pandey on Tuesday said that peace can be achieved soon if everyone accepts the February 1 royal take over. He said the King took the step to prevent the country from becoming a centre of terrorism. “The road to peace would be shorter if everyone works together,” said Pandey while inaugurating an energy exhibition organised by the Rural Technology Centre in Bidur Municipality and the Integrated Development Society. — HNS

Show cause notices

KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court on Tuesday issued show cause notices to government authorities, including the Home Ministry, the Police Headquarters and the Kathmandu District Administration Office, on why the Janamorcha Nepal chairman Amik Serchan, vice-chairman Lilamani Pokhrel and general-secretary Nava Raj Subedi have been detained. A single bench of Justice Khil Raj Regmi issued the order. — HNS

Ministers’ inspection

DHADHING: Home Minster Dan Bahadur Shahi and Foreign Minister Ramesh Nath Pandey inspected government offices in Dhadhingbeshi on Tuesday. Administrative chief of Bagmati zone Dr Shekhar Gurung was also present. The ministers instructed office chiefs. — HNS
