12 NC cadres released

SYANGJA: Police on Thursday released 12 out of 19 Nepali Congress cadres under custody on the condition that they would report before the administration when asked. The local administration had on Monday arrested the cadres. The released cadres were handed over to the Nepal Tarun Dal Syangja chairman, Govinda Ranabhat. — HNS

Maoists free NEA staffers

ILAM: The Maoists on Thursday released two staffers of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) in Ilam. Chakendra Thapa and Mohan Shrestha, who were abducted by the Maoists 12 days ago along with five others, were released from Raxe of Ilam. The five were freed a few days ago. — HNS

NC(D) expels ex-mayor

KAVRE: NC(D)Kavre has expelled former mayor of Banepa municipality, Dr Surendra Wade, from the party’s general membership. The president of NC(D), Kavre, Indramani Adhikari by issuing a press release on Thursday said that Wade has been expelled for supporting the Royal move of Feb 1 which is against the party statute. — HNS
