Diarrhoea breaks out

RAJBIRAJ: About 30 victims of the fire that gutted houses and properties at the Yadav tole in Badagama village development committee on Sunday are suffering from diarrhoea, victims said. Most of the sick are children, locals said, adding they were facing a scarcity of potable water as most of the tube-wells had dried up after the fire. In-charge of the sub-health post at Badagama said medicines had been distributed to the patients. — HNS

29 hurt in bus mishap

SUNSARI: Twenty-nine passengers were injured, six of them seriously, when a bus overturned at the Jhumka road section of the Mahendra highway in Sunsari district on Monday. The mishap occurred when the driver was trying to save an elderly woman, who came across the road all of a sudden, from being hit. While the six passengers have been undergoing treatment at the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, others have returned home after treatment, the District Police Inaruwa said on Tuesday. — RSS
