DHADING: Maoists on Sunday abducted over 200 students and teachers from Mahendra Barahi School of Katunje VDC. Meanwhile, the Maoists freed over 250 students and teachers, who were abducted from Rigaon School, on Saturday. — HNS

Maoist killed in operation

LAHAN: One Maoist was killed in a security operation at Betauna VDC of Siraha district on Sunday morning. Member of the Maoists’ Siraha district committee, Jagdev Gaderi, was killed in the operation. — HNS

Maoists bomb govt office

PHIDIM: Two Maoists on Sunday detonated a pressure cooker bomb at Phidim-based sub-division office of drinking water supply corporation. The blast has caused damage worth Rs 1.5 million, it is estimated. — HNS

Bomb halts traffic

NEPALGUNJ: Traffic on the Ratna highway, linking Surkhet and Nepalgunj, came to a halt on Sunday after Maoists placed a bomb and set up ambushes and barricades at several places on the road on Saturday. — HNS

12 hurt in bus mishap
