Maoist gunned down

DANG: Security forces on Tuesday shot dead a Maoist who tried a to hurl a socket bomb at them at Hapur VDC, Dang. The forces were conducting a search operation in the village, sources said, adding that ammunition and important documents were recovered from the spot. —RSS

UML meet on 5-party stir

KATHMANDU: A central committee meet of the CPN-UML on Wednesday decided to make the five-party civil disobedience programme, beginning from April 1, more effective. Members of the committee and other sister organisations of the party participated in the meet. The five agitating parties will organise a mass rally on April 1 and a mass meeting on March 26 at the city hall as part of their agitation against regression. Coordinator of the committee, Bharat M Adhikari, directed party cadres to work to make the joint agitation a success. — HNS
