Lamjung: Dashain holidays coming to an end, staffers were to be back to work by Friday morning, last week. However, District Irrigation Office, District Development Committee, District Health Offices, Land Mapping among others still waits to welcome their heads back to work, service seekers said. No staffers were found at District Election Office and District Irrigation Office, on Sunday. However, CDO Bishnu Prasad Pokharel in defence said that most of the government staffers had already returned and acting chiefs were assigned in some. — HNS

Sexual assault

Sindhupalchock: A sixteen-year-old girl from Sanusirubari VDC-4,was raped by a group of youths while she was collecting fodder on Saturday afternoon. She said, “Sanu Ghale, 23, of Sanusirubari VDC -2 and his group raped her.” Father of the victim has lodged a complaint at District Police Office demanding compensation and action against culprits. Inspector Harikrishna Khatri informed. — HNS
