‘Maoists to seize govt'

PARASI: Politburo member of UCPN-Maoist Devendra Poudel warned of capturing government in case the incumbent government continued excluding his party. He was addressing the second district of Rastriya Mukti Morcha Nepal (Revolutionary) in Parasi on Wednesday. Stating that the leaders rejected by Nepali people were running the government, Poudel claimed that the new constitution could not be written without the Maoists. He also said that the UCPN-Maoist was going to hoist black flags in parliament. — HNS

YCL attacks NA soldier

Dolakha: A group of YCL cadres attacked a Nepali Army soldier here in Jugu VDC of the district with khukuries on Saturday night. Chet Bahadur Basnet of Jugu -1, who is serving at the NA’s Kalibox Battalion in Dharan, was attacked by around seven YCL cadres. He was seriously injured in the attack, police said. He is taken to Kathmandu for treatment. Search is on for the group attacking him, the police informed. — RSS

No mobiles in class

Terhathum: Carrying mobiles in classrooms has been barred in Shanti Secondary School, which is situated at the border of Tamaphok of Sankhuwasabha and Tellok VDCs. The ban was put saying that anomalies had increased when the students carried mobiles, said headmaster Arjun Rai. Rai. He said the students used to listen to music, do miscall and would see video while the classes were in progress. The school has also banned colouring hair and wearing indecent dress. — RSS
