3 cops hurt in clash

Birgunj: Eleven persons, including three policemen, were injured in a fracas between local residents and a School Management Committee in Kattitol of Parsa's Parashurampur VDC on Tuesday. The scuffle ensued when a debate over SMC president Wokil Miya misusing the school funds took a nasty turn. Three policemen, including ASI Tika Baral and policeman Govinda Bista, who had reached there to take the situation under control, were hurt after the locals attacked them during the melee, according to the police. — HNS

Headmaster abducted

RAUTAHAT: An unidentified gang abducted Jotnarayan Jha, headmaster of a secondary school located at Patharabudham VDC, on Monday night, family sources said. According to police, Jha was abducted from Gamariya area on his way to the school. Separate teams of Armed Police Force and Nepal Police teams have been deployed in search of Jha. SP Ghanananda Bhatta said they arrested some persons in connection with the incident. — HNS

CC’s sub-committee

KATHMANDU: Constitutional Committee of the Constituent Assembly on Tuesday formed a 19-member sub-committee to prepare its initial draft, which will be discussed at the CA's full meeting. The sub-committee needs to accomplish its task by September 6. It will prepare the draft by incorporating the reports of five other CC sub-committees. — HNS
