Man beaten to death

SIRAHA: Locals of Phulbaria thrashed a man to death on Monday night. Ram Prasad Mahara of Chandra Ayodhapur-9 was beaten to death after a tipsy Mahara verbally abused the neighbours of his relative in whose house he had gone, the police said. Ram Parikshyan Mukhiya and Ramautar Mukhiya have been arrested on charge of murder, the police added. —HNS

Brown sugar seized

BIRGUNJ: Police have arrested two persons along with brown sugar from Gandak Chowk of Birgunj during a regular check on Monday night. The arrested have been identified as Khum Raj Ghale (25) of Mangalpur-5 of Chitwan and Sujan Bikram Shahi of Kathmandu, the police said. The police seized 115 grammes of brown sugar worth Rs 30,000. — RSS

Man falls to death

DIPAYAL: Krishna Bahadur Chhetri, a labourer, has died after falling from a cliff at Lamtheda of Sanagaun -7 of Doti on Sunday. Chhetri had been working as a labourer in the area for the last 10 years, the police said. He fell off the cliff while going to work in an inebriated condition.

BIRGUNJ: A worker of Simara-based Ganapati Soap Industry in Bara died after he was trapped under a machine on Monday night. The deceased has been identified as Ram Narayan Mahato of Basdilawa-6 of Parsa, the police said. — RSS
