NAWALPARASI: Twenty four persons were injured when a passenger bus (Na 2 Kha 1330) heading towards Pokhara from Mahendranagar met with an accident in Nawalparasi district along the East-West highway on Thursday morning. Two passengers are in a critical state among the injured, the Kawasoti Area Police Office said, adding, all the injured passengers are undergoing treatment at the Kawasoti based Kali Gandaki Hospital. — HNS
Students, elderly hurt
TANAHUN: Two students were injured when a Pokhara-bound bus met with an accident in Tanahun’s Aabukhaireni-5 on Thursday morning. Ganga Sharma, 14, and Gaurav Budhathoki, 12, were injured as the bus lost its control owing to the dozing driver, Som Thapa, police inspector at Aabukhaireni Area Police Office said. The bus was ferrying students of Rupandehi-based Evergreen English Boarding School for an excursion. Separately, 72-year-old Lokmaya Rana, a resident of Jamune-7, was injured when a bus heading to Damauli from Pokhara hit her the same morning. Rana is learnt to have been undergoing treatment at Damauli hospital. — HNS
Road accident
ROLPA: A person was injured when an ambulance belonging to the district hospital met with an accident at Mewang’s New Road in Rolpa on Wednesday night. Jhamak Lal GC, a resident of Sirpa-1, was injured. DSP Basanta Kumar Lama said GC was undergoing treatment, adding, the ambulance had skidded before falling 150 meters. — HNS
Two abducted
MAHOTTARI: Unidentified gangs have abducted two persons from different places in Dhanusha and Mohottari districts. Two motorcyclists abducted assistant health worker Punit Shah, a resident of Kishannagar-4, the Mahottari District Police Office said.Another gang abducted NC cadre Lab Bahadur Basnet a resident of Hatisarwa-4, in the districton Tuesday The gang of five, who wanted to have a word with Basnet, abducted him, his son Sandip said. — HNS
