Smuggler in police net

SANKHUWASABHA: Police has arrested a person on the charge of smuggling explosives who had escaped the police a month ago. Tek Bahadur Rai of Kharang VDC-8 in Sankhuwasabha was arrested 3 days ago from Gaurigunj, Jhapa, on the charge of smuggling 9 detonators and 900 grams of explosives. He had gone missing from Tumlingtar Airport on April 8 with the illegal materials. Meanwhile, District Police Officer DSP Poshraj Pokhrel has been accused of covering up the news related to the arrest. —THT Online

Man’s body found

BAGLUNG: Body of Ajayraj Timilsina, 40, Baglung secretary of CUPEC Nepal was found on the middle of the road at Maldhunga of Baglung-1 on Sunday. Timilsina was a permanent resident of Chandranigahpur of Rautahat district. He might have been run over by a vehicle since his body was on the road, said Inspector Govinda Acharya. Investigation into the incident is underway. — THT Online
