Koshi-hit halt traffic

Itahari: Koshi flood victims brought vehicular movement to a halt in Inaruwa, the district headquarters of Sunsari, and adjoining areas, including Laukahi, Bhokraha and Jhuma today as well. The victims have been staging an agitation to pile pressure on the government to meet its 10-point charter of demands. The protesters shouted slogans against the government and shut the Inaruwa bazaar. The flood victims have already handed over copies of a memorandum with a 10-point charter of demands to the PM and the Home Ministry. Accusing the government of not heeding to the demands, they embarked on the stir on Sunday. — HNS

Rhino horn seized

DHADING: The police on Friday seized a rhino horn and arrested two persons on the charge of carrying the body part of the endangered animal at Baireni in Dhading district. The District Police Office, Dhading, identified the arrestees as Ishwor Timilsina and Bidur Timilsina of Pangretar in Sindhupalchowk district. The two were taking the horn to Kathmandu from Chitwan. — HNS
