Mystery disease rages

DHADING: An unknown disease has claimed three lives within the past three days in Tipling VDC of Dhading. Pasang Tamang, Jagat Tamang and Sanimaya Ghale of Tipling-6 died of the unknown disease, said a local, Nara Bahadur Ghale. He said more than a hundred persons have been suffering from the disease. Fever and breathing problems are symptoms of the disease, he said. A team of health workers has been sent to the affected area on Thursday. — HNS

DEO padlocked

PHIDIM: Members of People’s Pressure Committee, Ranigaon, padlocked the Panchthar District Education Office on Thursday. They also padlocked the Siddha High School Tingden on Wednesday, accusing School Management Committee president Purna Bahadur Khadka of misusing the school property. They accused Khadka of sticking to the post for a long time and misusing the property of the school with the support of the administration. — HNS

Vijayashree Awards

KATHMANDU: Vijaya Development Resource Centre (VDRC) recently presented Vijayashree Awards to litterateur Sanat Regmi and social activist Durga Ghimire. The award carries a purse of Rs 11,111 and copper plaque. CA member Dr Shasank Koirala handed over the awards to the recipients.
