Blast in Mahottari
BARDIBAS: Two civilians were injured when an unidentified gang detonated a bomb at Pashupatinagar-2 in Mahottari district on Sunday. Those injured were identified as Satya Narayan Chaudhary and Govinda Bantar of Mangaha-3. The Mohattari District Police Office said that the blast targeted an Armed Police Force patrol team from the Sitapur Base Camp. The injured are undergoing treatment in Janakpur, the police said. — RSS
Murder after rape
SARLAHI: Thirty-four-year-old Suk Kumari Bot of Karmaiya Village Development Committee Ward No 3 in Sarlahi district, was murdered after rape on Thursday. Her body bearing injuries in the face was found nearby a tertiary canal of the Bagmati Irrigation Project, according to an eye witnessed. A team of the police has launched an investigation into the incident, the police said. — HNS
Child injured
BARA: Eight-year-old Mukesh Shah, son of Dinesh Shah of Kalaiya-8 in Bara district, was critically injured when he tripped upon a live wire on Sunday. Shah reportedly got an electric shock while he was playing. He is undergoing treatment in Kalaiya hospital, the police said. — HNS
Cops commit suicide
BIRATNAGAR: Two policemen committed suicide in Morang district in course of a week. Kailash Tamang of Dhankuta, who had been posted at the Area Police Office, Rani, hanged himself to death on Saturday. Earlier, a policeman posted at the Biratnagar Municipal Police, 22-year-old Devendra Lawati, committed suicide by hanging himself in his rented house at Gurda Bazaar of Biratnagar. The police said they were investigating the incidents. — RSS

SIRAHA: An unidentified gang abducted 45-year-old Punya Prasad Tiwari of Govindapur village
development committee-6 in Siraha district on Saturday. Tiwari is a village committee member of the Janamorcha Nepal, a district member of the party Jeevchha Yadav said. — HNS
Maoists blamed
RAJBIRAJ: Minister for Education Renu Kumari Yadav has accused major political parties of conspiring to rule out the declaration of Madhes as an autonomous province. Speaking at a public gathering organised in Bisanpur on Sunday, Minister Yadav accused the Maoists of trying to displace Madhesi people from Madhes in the name of Scientific Land Reform programme. — RSS
