Cop found dead

BIRATNAGAR: Policeman Devendra Lawati (24), posted at the Municipal Police Office in Biratnagar, was found dead in his rented room in Biratnagar-14 on Friday. The police said the case was under investigation. — RSS

Two drowned

DHANGADHI: Durga Nyupane (27), the wife of Jagat Nyupane of Kattipur VDC-7, Kailali district,

drowned in the Kanda River on Thursday. Meanwhile, Harka Bahadur Basa (24) of Hasuliya VDC-1 drowned in the Mohana River, the police said. — RSS

Disaster aid

DAMAULI: Fifty households, affected by floods and landslides in several VDCs of Tanahun, were provided relief. Utensils, clothing, tarpaulins and blankets were doled out to them, the Nepal Red Cross Society, Damauli branch, said. Branch chief Parashu Ram Giri said materials worth Rs 3,500 were provided to each disaster victim of Chowkchisa Pani, Barbhanjang, Bhanu and other VDCs. — RSS
