Four injured

BARA: Four persons were injured due to an electric shock while they were replacing old electricity poles with new ones at Gokultanditole of Parsauna VDC-9 in Bara district on Friday. Bir Bahadur Ghimire and Bishnu Regmi were seriously injured while Balram Ghimire and Ganesh Bahadur Thapa sustained minor injuries, said Sonalal Shah, a local. Son kills dad

TAPLEJUNG: A youth hacked his father to death at Phungling Village Development Committee in Taplejung on Friday night. Maniram Limbu, 20, a resident of Phungling Village Development Committee-6 of the district, attacked his father Ran Bahadur, 47, with a khukuri following a family feud, District Police Office Taplejung said. Ran Bahadur who was seriously injured in the incident, died while undergoing treatment in Taplejung District Hospital. Search for Maniram who absconded after the incident is underway, said DSP Bimal Basnet. —THT Online

KATHMANDU: An Egyptian citizen Isma Iskadar was arrested on Saturday at Tribhuvan International Airport. He was trying to reach Doha via Qatar Air. He was arrested from the airport during a regular checking at around 8:45 am. The police confiscated US $ 20,600 from him. — THT Online
