Threat slur on YCL

TAPLEJUNG: The Taplejung district chapter of the National Teachers’ Organisation has accused Young Communist League (YCL) cadres of threatening to kill three teachers of the Maiwakhola Higher Secondary School, Jhan Lal Tembe, Arjun Kumar Bhattarai and Tank Maya Tembe. In a statement, chief of the Taplejung chapter of the National Teachers’ Organisation Kishor Rai claimed that Parshuram Thopra and Shree Prasad Benem had threatened the three. “The threat has caused displacement of the three to the district headquarters,” the statement said, seeking action against the guilty. — HNS

Protest staged

GAIGHAT: Activists of Chure Bhawar Rastriya Ekata Party, Youth Force and Nepal Students’ Union on Saturday staged sit-in-protest in Udayapur Cement Factory demanding that Dolendra Bhattarai be sacked from his job. They did so after Bhattarai had sold 200 liters of diesel, out of 12,000, to a petrol pump based in Choharba that was brought from Amalekhgunj on Friday. After the protest in the main gate of the factory, they have formed a 17-member investigation committee, under the coordination of Jaya Prakash Chaudahry of Chure Bhawar. The investigation committee would submit its final report to the factory within four days. — HNS

Man falls to death

KALIKOT: Thirteen-year-old Khadga Bista of Kobada 1, Kalikot district, fell to death from a cliff in Aandherikhola on Saturday. The boy slipped to death while he had gone to cut grass, deputy superintendent of police at the Kalikot District Police Office Om Rana said. — HNS
