Landslip kills one

SINDHUPALCHOWK: Landslide triggered by downpour killed a 10-year-old in Sindhupalchowk district on Saturday morning. Santosh Thapa of Gati-9 was killed and his parents were injured when the landslide swept away their house, the Barhabise Area Police Office said. — HNS

House set ablaze

SIRAHA: Activists of the Janatantratik Tarai Mukti Morch-Jwala detonated two socket bombs and burnt down the house of Shiva Shankar Raut in Saraswor of Siraha on Friday, said Siraha district in-charge of the outfit, Paras Bidrohi. He said that the JTMM-J resorted to action against Raut because the latter was involved in anti-Madhes activities. Raut alleged that the JTMM-J cadres might have destroyed his house. — HNS
