One killed in mishap

Sarlahi: One person was killed and 21 others injured when a bus heading to Janakpur from Sonbarsa of India, carrying a marriage party, met with an accident at Bhaktipur VDC-1 along the East-West highway in Sarlahi on Monday night. An unidentified Indian national was killed in the mishap, police inspector at Saralhi Mahendra Shah said, adding that 21 persons including a Nepali were injured in the accident and are undergoing treatment. — HNS

Maoists thrash scribe

TIKAPUR: CPN-Maoist cadres beat up journalist Karna Kunwar here on Monday for writing a news against them. Maoist district member Prem Bahadur BK and a group, including district secretary of ANNISU-R Tara Sanjyal, thrashed publisher and editor of Tikapur Times daily. Police have already arrested Bishwokarma and Sanjyal, police said. — HNS
