Peace rally held

BARDIYA: A peace rally was organised in Guleria on Tuesday to maintain communal harmony in the district. Woman abducted

GOUR: Cadres of Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha-Jwala Singh abducted a young woman from Rangapur VDC at around 8pm on Monday. An armed gang of 20-25 entered the house of Theku Lama Waiba of Katani Tole by opening fire in the air and abducted Kalimaya Waiba. She was at the wedding reception of Theku’s son. The gang also beat up the guests. Morcha’s district secretary, Sita Singh, has owned up the abduction. — RSS

MMT cadre arrested

BIRATNAGER: The police have arrested Morang district in-charge of Madhesi Mukti Tigers (MMT). District Police Office, Morang, on Monday made public Ranadhir Yadav, in-charge of MMT Morang, along with weapons at a press conference. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police, Biddhyananda Majhi, a police patrol team took him into custody from Daraiya settlement in Biratnagar-16 after getting information. Yadav confessed before the police that he had collected donation worth Rs 150,000 during the last one and half year. — RSS

One murdered

SARLAHI: One Jagadish Ray, who was kidnapped five days ago, was found dead at Laukath VDC-4 on Monday, police said. Sources said Ray was kidnapped over a personal dispute by Ram Ishwor Ray on last Thursday. Police said Ray’s thumbs had ink stains and said that the kidnappers might have killed him after taking his finger prints on some documents. — RSS
