SIRAHA: YCL cadres detained district army commander of Samyukta Tarai Janatantrik Mukti Morcha Jaso Yadav alias Bikrant Singh from Dasgaja area in Inarwa VDC of Siraha on Wednesday morning and handed him over to the police. YCL cadres detained Yadav, 30, of Inarwa VDC and handed him over to the Lahan Area Police Office, SP Mingmar Lama said. Child hurt in blast

BARA: A child was hurt after a bomb exploded in Kalaiya-5 on Wednesday morning. Sandip Chhetri, 10, son of Dinesh Chhetri, was injured, Bara District Police Office said. He was taken to Birgunj-based Narayani Sub-regional Hospital for treatment, police said. District chapter of Samyukta Terai Janatantrik Mukti Morcha has owned up the blast. In another incident, an unidentified gang detonated a bomb, near the house of Bishnu Khadka of Kalaiya-7 on Tuesday. — HNS

Property gutted

SIRAHA: Property worth Rs 5 lakh was gutted after fire broke out in Kapileshsor Sada’s house in Fulbariya-9 on Wednesday afternoon. Eight houses including Sada’s two houses, at least Rs 50,000 and other properties were destroyed in the fire, said Ramnagar Mirchaiya area police office. — HNS
