ANNFSU locks DEO
BARA: The All Nepal Free Students’ Union (ANNFSU) affiliated to the CPN (UML) on Friday padlocked the Bara district education office (DEO) based in Kalaiya-5. It is learnt that the ANNFSU padlocked the DEO after the latter failed to fulfil the demands raised by the union regarding various educational problems in the district. Police said the DEO will be re-opened after reaching an accord with the protesters. — HNS
Fest inaugurated
Chitwan: Speaker Subas Nembang inaugurated the fourth Ratnanagar Festival amidst a function here on Friday. The festival being organised by the Ratnanagar Chambers of Commerce and Industries and Ratnanagar municipality aims to market honey produced here. Inaugurating the festival, Nembang called on all people to make efforts to conserve one-horned rhinos, which are found in Chitwan. — HNS
House panel’s meet
KATHMANDU: The meeting of Parliament Regulation Amendment Drafting Committee of Parliament held on Friday under the chairmanship of its coordinator Ram Bahadur Bista. The meeting decided to draft proposal for appropriate amendment to Parliament Regulation according to the amendment to interim statute and present in the next meeting of the panel. Speaker, members of the committee, chief whips and whips of parliamentary parties and invited member Leelamani Pokharel were present in the meeting. — RSS
