Five killed in mishaps
Jhapa: Five persons were killed in separate accidents in Jhapa and Biratnagar within the last 24 hours. Two persons were killed when a jeep and a truck collided in Chanai of Jhapa on Saturday. Jeep owner, Dinadayal Kasaudhan of Butwal-6 and driver Mantud Chaudhary of Bagaha VDC-2 Rupandehi were killed in the mishap. A report from Biratnagar said Suyog Shrestha (11) died after a tractor hit the motorcycle he was riding on at Devkota Chowk on Saturday. On friday, Milan Subba (34) of Phakdev-5, Panchthar, succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at the Mechi Zonal Hospital in Bhadrapur. Two persons riding pillion on Subba’s motorbike were injured. Likewise, Man Kumari Rajbansi, 45, of Dangibari-3 of Jhapa died after she was hit by a motorbike on Friday. — HNS
LLM conference ends
Phidim: The first three-day district conference of the Maoist-affiliated Limbuwan Mukti Morcha concluded in Phidim today. One of the seven decisions taken in the meeting was to retaliate against forces obstructing CA polls. In a press release issued after the conclusion of the conference states that it has decided to draw the attention of the Maoists to adopt fully proportional electoral system in the polls, press government to use Limbu language in government schools to teach students in the district and erect hoardings with Limbu language in district-based checkpoints. LLM also formed a new committee with 15 members under the chairmanship of Arjun Prasad Begha. — HNS
