KATHMANDU: Canadian citizen Tenjin Fakchok was detained from Tribhuvan International Airport along with US $12,400 on Friday. He was arrested while he was trying to leave Kathmandu for Doha via Qatar Airways. He was sent to Revenue Office, Hariharbhawan, Pulchowk, for investigation. — HNS


One commits suicide

KATHMANDU: Kishor Lama, 24, of Narayantar, Kathmandu, died while undergoing treatment in Shankarapur Hospital, Jorpati, on Friday. He was rushed to the hospital when he was found unconscious in his room around noon on Friday after he had consumed poison. — HNS


House looted

BHAKTAPUR: Property worth Rs 2.7 lakh, including Rs 25,000 cash and jewellery, was stolen from the house of Uday Khadka in Lokanthali, Bhaktapur, on Thursday. Investigation into the case is underway. In another case, property worth around Rs 3.5 lakh, including Rs 15,000 cash and jewellery, was stolen from Tuk Lal Adhikari's house in Thapagaun, Kathmandu, on Friday. Man kills self

KATHMANDU: Netra Bahadur Tamang, 38 of Damcha-8, Kavre, was injured when he jumped off the second floor of Kathmandu Medical Hospital on Friday. He had been in the hospital since May 19. -HNS


One injured

KATHMANDU: Sita Magar, 24, was injured when she was hit by a motorbike at Chobar on Saturday. She was taken to Star Hospital, Balkhu, for treatment. The motorcyclist has been rounded up for investigation, the police said. —HNS


Couple missing

POKHARA: A couple, who had gone boating in Fewa Lake, went missing on Saturday afternoon. Menuka Shrestha and Birdas Shrestha, residents of Pokhara, went missing while their rented boat was found in Khapaundi, the head of the lake. —HNS


Two killed

MYAGDI: Two persons died in two separate incidents in Myagdi on Friday. Hom Bahadur Kisan, a resident of Arthunge-2, was killed when a wall of a local football ground collapsed on top of him on Friday. Kisan who sustained major injuries on his chest. In another incident, Dar Bahadur Chhantyal, 49, a resident of Kuinemangal-7, was killed when he fell off a cliff on Friday, the police said. — HNS


Fire damages temple

SARLAHI: Property worth lakhs of rupees was gutted when a fire broke out in Ramjanaki Temple in Salempur-9 of Sarlahi district on Friday night. Property including jewelleries and clothes worth five lakh rupees were gutted in the fire, Mahendra Shah, the police said. — HNS
