NARAYANGARH: Police held Sunita Tamang, 21, of Birendranagar-3 on Tuesday on the charge of killing her husband. DPO has alleged that Sunita killed her husband, Yam Bahadur Karki, 24, while he was sleeping. — HNS
Kids killed in mishap
JHAPA: Two schoolchildren were killed in Dhulabari-Charali road of Jhapa after a tractor hit them on Monday evening. Salman Dhimal, 8, and Bijaya Rajbansi, third graders of the Dasharath Chand Higher Secondary School and the residents of Dhaijan VDC-5, succumbed to injuries while being rushed to Dharan for treatment, police said. Police said tractor driver Bhantuk Danuwar was arrested. The aggressive locals blocked the highway to press for compensation. — HNS
Youth abducted
Rajbiraj: Cadres of the Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha-Jwala Singh abducted 22-year-old Bihari Yadav, a resident of Barahibirpur village development committee in Saptari district on Tuesday. Yadad was kidnapped on the charge of collecting donations, robbery and for his involvement in criminal activities, JTMM-J district coordinator Kranti said. In another incident, an unidentified gang abducted Pawan Kumar Shah, a teacher at a primary school of Bargama of Saptari on Tuesday. A gang of some seven armed persons kidnapped Shah, a resident of Nagada VDC-4, and took him to unknown place, said eyewitnesses. — HNS
Road blocked
NEPALGUNJ: Locals of Kusum and relatives of Chandra KC, 13, who was hit by a passenger bus on Tuesday morning, blocked the Kohalpur-Lamahi road section of the East-West highway demanding punishment to the bus driver and the boy’s treatment, Kohalpur traffic police office said. Injured KC has been undergoing treatment at the Nepalgunj Teaching Hospital. The Agaiya police post has taken the bus driver in custody. — HNS
