JTMM-J’s warning
SIRAHA: The Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha (Jwala Singh) has threatened to take action against those involved in abducting people in the Tarai region. JTMM-J chief Jwala Singh issued a press release here on Friday saying that the “unknown groups” abducting Madhesis were anti-Madhesi and that the party would take action anyone found to be doing so. Singh also alleged that the abduction of Madhesis was taking place at the behest of the Pahade-led parties. — HNS
Schools shut in Lahan
SIRAHA: Managing committees of private schools in Lahan of Siraha district have declared a closure of their schools to protest strikes by teachers. All 33 private schools in Lahan have shut down. — HNS
Two held after clash
ITAHARI: A police team led by deputy superintendent Firoz Chaudhary exchanged fire with a gang of dacoits in the area lying between Amduwa VDC-7 of Sunsari district and Biratnagar of Morang district on Thursday night. The team held gang members Sanjay Yadav and Buddhiman Rajbani with weapons. — HNS

Staff to resume work
Bara: Agitating employees at Kalaiya Municipality have agreed to resume work from December 16 after an agreement was reached at a meeting on Friday.
