Search called off
BIRATNAGAR: Search for three persons, who have gone missing after a boat capsized in Arun river on the border of Sankhuwasabha and Bhojpur districts on Saturday, was called off on Monday. The search has been called off because chances of rescuing the victims alive 48 hours after the incident are slim, police said. Govinda Shrestha, 17, his brother Milan, 4, and Indira Rai, 24 of Bhojpur had gone missing when a boat ferrying them capsized on Saturday. — HNS
Road reopens
BIRGUNJ: The Birgunj-Pathaliya road section opened from Sunday evening. Seeking compensation, family members of those who died or were injured in an accident on the road section had been blocking the section. The road was reopened after an agreement war reached between representatives of the vehicle, victims, police and administration. — RSS
NSP cadre abducted
KANCHANPUR: An armed group has abducted Rajendra Raya, an activist of the Nepal Sadbhavana Party (NSP) from his home in Koiladi Barsain VDC-3. According to the family, the group said it is taking Raya away for “investigation”. — RSS
