RAUTAHAT: Ashit Kumar Baidhya, principal of the Prabhat Residential Secondary School in Gaur, on Sunday threatened to kill Prem Chandra Jha, chief editor of the Tarai Express and member of the Rautahat chapter of the Federation of Nepalese Journalists (FNJ). The FNJ Rautahat chapter has condemned the action and sought punishment to the principal. Bill registered

KATHMANDU: The government has registered a bill at the parliament secretariat to amend the Muluki Ain (Civil Code) with the objective of curbing forced disappearances. The bill says that the person involved in the ‘’disappearance’’ of an individual could be tried for murder if the latter dies during disappearance. The person who arrests and keeps the “disappeared” under control will be regarded as the main person involved in the disappearance of the individual, states the bill. — HNS

Indian aid for campus

DHADING: A new building for Nilkantha Campus is to be constructed at Dhadingbesi with the help of the Government of India. The building with 18 rooms will cost Rs 18 million. According to the agreement with the Indian Embassy, a suitable place in Dhadingbeshi would be selected by the campus within 10 days. A nine-member sub-committee has been formed for this. — RSS
