Ranger abducted

Rautahat: Cadres of the Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha (Jwala Singh) abducted a ranger of the District Forest Office (Rautahat) on Wednesday. Five JTMM cadres abducted Ansarul Hak who had gone to Baluwatole of Kanakpur VDC for some official work, the DFO said. JTMM cadres led by their area secretary Khaheru Dewan abducted Hak, ranger at the Jangalsaiya range post. JTMM district chairperson Ajaya Yadav said over telephone that his men abducted Hak to interrogate him on charges of involvement in timber smuggling. — HNS

Lightning kills one

BAGLUNG: One person died and four were injured when lightning struck them at Chhisti-7 in Baglung district on Monday night. Ganga Bahadur Thapa, 45, who was in the buffalo-shed feeding the animals fell unconscious when lightning struck him. He died on Tuesday , locals said. — RSS
