BARA: Pannalal Prasad Patel of Bhulahi in Bharawaliya-7 was arrested on Wednesday night while he was stealing planks from a wooden bridge over Bangari River, the Bara district police office said, adding that 25 persons who were with him absconded. — HNS

Lekhnath: Over a hundred persons in Lekhnath-15 have been deprived of citizenship certificates as the citizenship distribution team deployed there left a day ahead of the scheduled date. The team was scheduled to distribute the certificates on Tuesday and Wednesday. However, people seeking certificates were deprived of the same as the team did not make its field visit on Wednesday. “I went to take the certificate on Wednesday, but had to return empty-handed,” a local said on Thursday.
