Meet on poll security

KATHMANDU: An interaction was held at the Election Commission on Saturday to make security arrangements for Constituent Assembly polls. Election Commissioners and chiefs of security bodies took part in the interaction. Call for timely polls

Dhading: Speaker of the House of Representatives Subas Nembang on Saturday said that all political parties and the people must work together to hold the constituent assembly (CA) polls on the stipulated time. Inaugurating the 10th annual general meeting of Janakalayan Saving and Loan Cooperatives Limited at Benighat in Dhading, Nembang, said: “All sides have to press for the CA polls.” — HNS

Idol stolen

KANCHANPUR: The idol of Mahishashur has been stolen from the premises of the Goddess Kankalini Temple at Bahardaha-1. Animals used to be sacrificed in front of the idol on the days of Ramnawami. — RSS

‘Power cuts harmful’

Kathmandu: Minister of State for Water Resources Gyanendra Bahadur Karki has said that load-shedding has hindered development works. Inaugurating a meeting of the Nepal Electrical Association on Saturday, he said: “An agreement on power transmission line is being reached with India.” — RSS
