KATHMANDU: A Covid-19 infected person who was undergoing treatment at the Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) died this morning.

According to BPKIHS, the 63-year-old male from Biratnagar Metropolitan City-12 of Morang district died while receiving treatment at the Covid Hospital of the institute at 8:10 am today.

He was admitted to the hospital on December 24 after he tested positive for the contagion on the same day, informed hospital.

The deceased was a chronic patient of Squamous cell carcinoma of Gingiva, added BPKIHS.

The hospital is preparing for the last rites of the deceased as per the health guidelines, hospital said.
