One person was killed and 15 others injured in clashes that erupted in Makawanpur and Tanahun duringTihar.

One person died and one was injured when two groups of people clashed at Nawalpur suspension bridge at Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City, Makawanpur, on Thursday, said District Police Office, Makawanpur.

Ramesh Ranamagar, 47, and Ranjit Shrestha, 25, were injured in the incident. Injured Ranamagar is being treated at Churehill Hospital while another injured Shrestha is undergoing treatment at Hetauda hospital. Police have arrested seven persons for their involvement in the clash.

Similarly, 14 persons were injured in clashes at separate places of Tanahun.

Six persons sustained injuries when two groups of people clashed with each other at Bhimad Municiplaity-6 on Friday night. Critically injured Ganesh Neupane is being treated at Pokhara’s Fishtail Hospital while others are receiving treatment at Pokhara’sManipal Teaching Hospital. Police have arrested four youths and seized four motorbikes.

Eight persons were injured when a minor dispute between locals of Pokharibhanjyang and Benikot took an ugly turn  on Thursday evening.
