KATHMANDU: A person died after the motorcycle he was riding on met with an accident in Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City-6 of Sunsari district on Thursday night, police said.

The identity of the deceased, who appears to be in mid 30s, is yet to be identified.

According to police, the incident occurred when the truck (Na 4 Kha 5914) hit the motorcycle (Ko 7 Pa 50) at 9:45 pm yesterday, injuring the motorcyclist.

The critically injured was rushed to the Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, where he breathed his last the same night during the course of treatment, informed police.

Meanwhile, the Itahari-based Area Police Office has impounded the truck and detained its driver for further investigation, said police.
