DADELDHURA: A person died and 16 others sustained injuries after the jeep they were travelling on fell below the road at Bhageshwor Rural Municipality-4 in Dadeldhura on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Manmati Devi Chand (63) of Patan Municipality-7 in Baitadi District.

According to police, the jeep (Se 1 Ja 210) en route from Dewal village of Ajayameru Rural Municipality to Baghkhor of Amargadhi Municipality fell some 10 metres below the road at Dugari, crushing one to death.

Among the injured, two critically injured are receiving treatment at Dadeldhura District Hospital whereas 14 others who sustained minor injuries have returned home after receiving treatment at a local health post, informed Dadeldhura District Police Office.

It has been reported that there were 17 passengers at the time of the accident.

Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway, police said.
