RAUTAHAT: A person died on the spot after the tractor he was travelling on met with an accident in Yamunamai Rural Municipality along the Gaur-Chandrapur road section of Rautahat district on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Diloj Ray Yadav (22) of Mudbalawa in Rajdevi Municipality-7 of the district.

According to police, the incident occurred when the tractor (Na 3 Ta 3646) lost its control and overturned in the road near Jhunkhunuwa, killing Yadav.

It has been learnt that the tractor was ferrying back in a groom’s wedding procession after the wedding in Brindaban Municipality, informed District Police Office (DPO), Gaur.

Police are searching for the tractor driver Bignesh Ray Yadav who fled the incident site, said Gaur DPO.

Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been handed over to the family after postmortem, informed police.
