One dead, six injured in Nawalparasi truck collision

KAWASOTI: A person died on the spot while six others were injured when two trucks collided at Naya Belahani along the East-West Highway in Nawalparasi on Friday.

The truck (Na 3 Kha 4403) heading toward west from the east rammed a stationary truck (Na 6 Kha 2191) from behind, according to Assistant Sub-Inspector Hari Bahadur Sen of Arunkhola Police Post.

The deceased has been identified as Kurdush Koresi (35) of Baharaich in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India.

The injured are undergoing treatment at the local medical institute.

Police have detained the drivers of both trucks for investigation.

Meanwhile, in another accident, a pedestrian was critically injured when the motorcycle (Ba 56 Pa 2992) hit a pedestrian in Madhyabindu-4 of Nawalparasi today.

The injured has been identified as Dan Bahadur Rana (16) of Madhyabindu-6 in the district.

Meanwhile Rana is undergoing treatment at Bharatpur College of Medical Sciences.

Police are looking for the motorcyclist who fled the scene after the accident.
